Summer Music Camp

The Weston Youth Center for Musical Arts Music Camp is a week-long camp with two main focuses:
Band and General Music.
If music and fun is what you love, then this camp is for you!
Our camp runs for 3 weeks and campers have the option of attending one or all of the individual weeks.
Each week runs from 9am-3pm Monday-Friday on the campus of

1
Band Camp
Band (wind and percussion instruments) is available for incoming 5th through 9th graders. Students will be placed in a beginner or advanced band based on experience/ability. Each group will work in large and small ensembles with some of the area's finest professional musicians who will focus on fine tuning their skills as well as preparing them for the next level. Students in this camp will also work on the 2024 Florida All-State audition requirements.
Option 2
General Music Camp
Our General Music camp is available for incoming 1st through 5th graders and incorporates hands-on music techniques, singing, and music reading/appreciation based on age. It also includes outdoor Field/Recreational time.
All camps will have weekly, in-house, guest performances by local South Florida professional ensembles.
Students will also prepare for weekly performances.

9:00- 9:30am: Arrival/ Welcome Activity
9:40-11:30am: Sectionals- coaching by instrument group
11:30-12:30pm: LUNCH/ Recreational Field Time
12:35-1:30pm: Elective class- masterclass, practice time, Jazz Band/All State Prep
1:45-2:55pm: Concert Band rehearsal
3:00 pm: Pick Up

Where is the camp located and what are the dates and times of operation?
The WYCMA Summer Music Camp 2024 operates on the campus of Tequesta Trace Middle School in Weston, FL.
It runs Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm
The dates for the three week-long camps are as follows:
Session 1- June 17th-21st
Session 2- June 24th-28th
Session 3- July 8th-12th
What should my child wear to camp?
Campers should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. A jacket is recommended since most of the day is indoors with air conditioning. Campers should wear their camp tee shirt on Mondays and Fridays. Free camp t-shirt Included with Registration Fee. Please have your child wear sunscreen, since we will have outdoor recreational activities.
How can I register my child?
The registration form is found above. Additionally, you must fill out the WYCMA Music Camp Policies-Behavior Contract .The final step is to submit the camp registration and session fees.
How much are the registration/session fees, and how can I make the payment?
The camp session fee is $290 per week.
There is also a one-time registration fee of $30 which includes a Camp T-Shirt.
Our preferred method of payment is the bank service Zelle, using our official email as the recipient contact information: admin@westonycma.com
We can also accept Venmo using our ID @WestonYCMA or QR Code.
If you choose Venmo, please add a service fee of $6.20 to the total.
How does drop off/pick up work?
Campers are to be dropped off at the front entrance of Tequesta Trace Middle School between 8:50 and 9:00am. They will be brought to the appropriate classroom by staff members.
Pick up occurs at the front of the school in the car line at 3:00pm
How can band students rent instruments?
We recommend that students who are already involved in band programs discuss renting/borrowing an instrument with their school band director before the end of the school year. If other arrangements are needed, we recommend using the company All County Music.

Weather Disclaimer
WYCMA Music Camp will operate rain or shine as the camp operates indoors.
For the safety of our campers and staff, if the unavoidable threat of a natural disaster such as tropical storm/hurricane warnings are enacted in Broward County, the Camp will be closed. No refunds or credit will be given if camp has to be suspended during these times.
LUNCH
Water and Snacks are provided. Campers must bring their own lunch. ON FRIDAYS, Pizza will be ordered for campers at no extra cost.
Refund Policy
Registration and Camp Fee must be paid upon Registration.
Registration Fee is Non-Refundable.
Camp Fee is fully Refundable up to 2 weeks before camp.
Camp Fee is 50% refundable up to 1 week before camp.
Camp Fee is NON- refundable once camp is in session.
